New Business Of The Year 2017
On Friday 10th November #TeamDreamBIG dusted down their tuxedos and polished their shoes to attend the 7th annual Rochdale Business Awards. The prestigious event which is organised and sponsored by the local business community was hosted by BBC North West Tonight’s Dave Guest and took place at Rochdale Town Hall with awards up for grabs for various achievements including Employee and Employer of the Year, Apprentice of The Year and High Street Retailer of The Year. The Dream Big Sports team were not there just to make up the numbers, they were in attendance as they were fortunate enough to be a finalist in the “New Business of The Year” category.
All businesses shortlisted on the night were very worthy of their place as finalists and joining Dream Big Sports in the New Business of The Year category were two other local businesses; GM Construction Training and Forever Fitness Strong Gym, both very successful enterprises in their own right. However, we are very proud to say it was Dream Big Sports Ltd who were crowned winners on the evening walking away with the prestigious accolade.
Directors Dillan O’Connor and Dale Harris commented on the evening: “To even be recognised amongst so many other dedicated and driven individuals/businesses was an absolute honour for us a team and to come away victorious in our efforts was a huge bonus. When we began our journey as Dream Big Sports in 2016 we had no aims or aspirations to win awards, our priority was to provide opportunities for young people who for whatever reason may not have had a chance previously. This award proves that we are continuing to take positive steps towards achieving our goals in the Rochdale community and we are sure that this will only motivate us to inspire more children than ever before!”
“The team that we have are fantastic and are really the driving force behind what we do on a daily basis, without their collective efforts we would not have had that chance to step up on stage at the Business Awards so they deserve a lot of credit too. We are already looking and planning ahead for the future and can promise that as we expand the impact we have is going to be incredible. We want to be more than just a provider.”
