New Additions To The Team!

It has been a busy half term at TeamDreamBIG as a couple of new faces joining our rapidly growing team and so it’s only right we introduce them to you.

Firstly, Patrick Ashling joined the team as a Primary PE Specialist and it is safe to say he has hit the ground running with some excellent feedback from his schools. Patrick brings with him a wealth of knowledge with regards to physical education and school sport. He has previously played and coached cricket in Australia and you could say cricket is his specialist sport which is fantastic in terms of adding variety to our provision. He is passionate about sport and children succeeding through sport, a perfect fit for us at Dream Big Sports. He currently plays cricket in his spare time for Bowden Cricket Club and is also Director of Academy Coaching for their junior section.

Following Patricks arrival, we then added another new coach to our team, not just a new team member but a whole new role. Abi Mellor took up the role of Dance Development Officer with us and all we can say is watch this space! She has the knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and passion to take dance to a whole new level with Dream Big Sports. Right from her initial interview we were blown away by her passion, enthusiasm and desire for dance and working with children. Her characteristics stood out all the way through the recruitment process.

Abi’s start has been put back with us but it is put back for a very good reason; she is part of the England national cheerleading team who head off to Florida after the Easter half term to compete in the world championships. Not everyone can say they are doing that in the coming weeks but I guess that shows the calibre of people we are attracting and recruiting at TeamDreamBIG. We wish Abi all the best fulfilling a lifelong ambition to represent her country, and we are sure you'll agree that it is an amazing achievement in itself!

Personally, I can say on behalf of myself and Dillan we are very excited to have these two new members of staff on board. It shows firstly how much we are progressing as an organisation and secondly it opens up two whole new avenues for us to explore to try and get more children active across Greater Manchester. We now have a vision for dance and cricket to become two of the most popular activities amongst our provision. Abi and Patrick are passionate, eager to get started and if you see them out in your community please say hello!

As directors to see where we have come from to where we are now makes us incredibly proud. I could not be happier with the team we have, I truly believe the new additions added to our already fantastic team enables us to have an even greater impact across our communities and what pleases me even more is knowing that our team is local to Oldham, Rochdale and Manchester. They are familiar with the areas that we work in, they know the work they do and they are progressing amazingly well.

Finally, from everyone at Dream Big Sports we hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter break and we would like to take this opportunity to wish Abi and her whole cheerleading squad the very best of luck in the upcoming world championships.
