We deliver qualifications in recognised by governing bodies of sport and other sector-specific professional organisations.

1st4sport Level 1 Award For Activators (Multi-Skills)

This qualification will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to help out at extra-curricular sessions in education settings such as schools, further and higher education settings, and community programmes.

You will learn:

• About the role and responsibilities of an activator
• How to organise and facilitate extra-curricular activities
• How to facilitate activities that underpin fundamental movement and sports skills
• How to adapt multi-skills activities for different audiences
• How to work with people in your community to combat social exclusion and boost physical activity.

Qualification Progression: The skills and knowledge developed will enable learners to progress to other industry relevant qualifications in coaching sport, activity leadership, higher education institution activity programmes, supporting PE in school sport and sports development.

Prior to registration learners are required to:

• Be accurately identified
• Be at least 14 years of age
• Be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing)

1st4Sport Level 1 Award In Assistant Coaching (Sport & Physical Activity)

This qualification focuses on the skills and competences required to be able to assist the delivery of multi skills coaching sessions, under the direct supervision of a more qualified coach

You will learn:

• Roles and responsibilities of the coaching assistant
• Rules and regulations
• Safe coaching practice
• Inclusive coaching practice
• Deliver and evaluate coaching activities
• Technical requirements of the sport and physical activity

Qualification Progression: Learners could progress on to the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Multi Skills or on to a sport-specific coaching qualification at level 1 or at level 2. The skills and knowledge developed through this qualification may also be used to progress to other industry-relevant qualifications in coaching sport, activity leadership, or sports development.

This qualification may lead to paid or voluntary roles in coaching multi skills, working as a coaching assistant under the appropriate supervision of a more qualified coach. Other roles that the learner may consider exploring include Activity Leader, Official and Sports Volunteer.

1st4Sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching (Sport & Physical Activity)

This qualification will introduce learners to the principles of coaching fundamental movement skills and sport specific skills via the planning, delivery and review of a series of linked and progressive coaching sessions.

You will learn:

• Rules and regulations
• Duty of Care
• Roles and Responsibilities of the Coach
• Inclusive Coaching Practice
• Nutrition and Hydration
• Coaching Styles and Participant Development
• Safe Coaching Practice

Qualification Progression: Holders of this qualification are able to progress onto a wide range of Level 2 sports-specific qualifications. The skills and knowledge developed may be used to enable learners to progress to other industry-relevant qualifications such as activity leadership, supporting PE in school sport and sports development.

This qualification may lead to paid employment or unpaid voluntary roles in coaching multi-skills, either working independently or as part of a coaching team. The learner should not be deployed independently in this role until the age of 18. Other roles the learner may consider exploring include Activity Leader, Official and Sports Volunteer.

Prior to registration learners are required to:

• Be at least 17 years of age
• Supply some form of ID
• Be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing).

UK Coaching Safeguarding & Protecting Children

This qualification will help coaches recognise poor practice and the red flags of abuse, whilst also prompting a review of your coaching practice to ensure that you provide a positive and enriching experience for all children.

You will learn:

• Identify and recognise good coaching practice and the implications for your coaching
• Refresh your knowledge around recognising safeguarding issues, what to do, and just as importantly, what not to do
• Explore your values and feelings in relation to child abuse, and recognise their potential impact on your response
• Take appropriate action if concerns about a child arise
