How do I book a place?
It has never been easier to book a place at our holiday camps as we operate an online booking system, where you will be able to select the days and sessions you would like to reserve as well as any added extras you may need such as early drop offs or late pick-ups.
It is worth noting that the online booking system is debit/credit card only.
What if I want to pay via Childcare Vouchers?
We are delighted to be able to offer this option to parents/carers who wish to pay using Childcare Vouchers or the Childcare Tax Free Scheme. Please select the dates you would like to book and a member of our team will be in touch via email within 24 hours to provide details of how to process and confirm your booking using this payment method.
We have also created a specific step-by-step guide that will take you through the process in a few simple steps which you can on the Holiday Camp bookings page.
Please note: this option is currently only available at North Chadderton School and The Hathershaw College. We can only accept cash payment at Waterhead Academy.
I have a voucher; how do I use it when booking?
All vouchers can be used to book sessions at either our holiday camp or academy sessions and the process is very simple. Once you have confirmed your booking details online, you will be taken to a checkout page which includes a “voucher code” box for you to enter the code. Once entered, please click “apply” and the appropriate discount will be applied before you proceed with payment.
Can I change or cancel a booking that I have already made?
We understand that things change and this may have an unavoidable impact meaning that you need to change or cancel a booking that you have made. In order to operate a fair policy for all of our customers we have in place the following system:
Changes:
· Up to 7 days prior to the first start date - No fee incurred.
· Less than 7 days prior to the first start date - £5 administration fee.
Cancellation:
· Up to 7 days prior to the first start date - Full refund.
· Less than 7 days prior to the first start date - No refund (credit placed on the account for future use).
All changes or cancellations must be made via telephone on 0161 669 5818 and will only be confirmed once you have spoken to a member of the Dream Big Sports team. Leaving a message, voicemail or sending an email may not be accepted as confirmation of the change or cancellation.
What if my child has a medical condition?
If your child has a medical condition (eg. diabetes, serious allergies, epilepsy etc.) that we need to be aware of then it is essential that you make us aware prior to the Holiday Camp starting.
The process of doing so is very simple and is included when registering or booking your child’s place online in the personal information form that must be completed.
If your child also requires medication throughout the day then we must also be made aware prior to your child’s first day on camp so that we can make arrangements where necessary.
What if my child has additional needs?
Children with additional needs and disabilities are welcomed at our Holiday Camps after consultation between parents and a senior member of our coaching team to ensure that all needs can be met within the staff ratios that we provide. Parents should discuss any particular needs of their child with our team at the time of booking.
What should my child wear?
- Casual clothing (tracksuit bottoms, shorts, jumpers, hoodies).
- Trainers - we wouldn’t advise boots or shoes as there will be lots of running around!
What does my child need to bring?
- Water or soft drinks - no fizziness!
- A packed lunch - fuel for the day!
- Snacks - active children get hungry quickly!
Additional items they may need:
- A raincoat - we know how unpredictable the British weather can be!
- A hat - to keep the sun away or the cold out, depending on the time of year!
- Sun cream… well, you never know.
What shouldn't my child bring?
- Sports equipment - we have plenty to use!
- Computer games or MP3 players
- Valuable items such as watches or jewellery.
Can I see what my child has been up to?
Absolutely! As part of the registration process, our online booking system asks whether each child has photo consent for safeguarding purposes. For those children that do have photo consent, we make sure to capture all the action throughout the week so that we can share it with parents and carers. During the week, you will receive a text message from our team that includes a link to our Facebook page and the holiday camp photos from the week so far. We will also continue to upload photos of our holiday camp activities sessions until the end of the week so this album can be accessed at a later date too!
Will my child receive any prizes or awards?
We believe that all the children who attend our holiday camp are winners in their own right and we aim to reward this as much as possible throughout the week. Our coaches present a daily “Star of the Day” award just after our afternoon break, this award is given to the standout performer of the day in their group.
In addition to this, the whole week leads up to our “Dreamer of the Week” prize which is award to the child in each group that has consistently exceeded expectations at the holiday camp. This isn’t necessarily awarded to the highest achiever but instead it may down to a fantastic attitude, polite manners, showing good sportsmanship or being an outstanding team player - all of which we feel are valuable life skills outside of sport!
What qualifications do your team have?
We are confident that the combination of their qualifications and enthusiasm to inspire the young people that we work with, your children are sure to have an incredible time at our holiday camps!
Are your Holiday Camps insured?
Yes, all of our Holiday Camp venues and coaches are fully insured and include public liability, civil liability and professional indemnity insurance.
How do I sign my child out?
Our lead coach will be located at the same desk as they were for signing in to complete the signing out process for your child. Upon your arrival to collect your child, our lead coach will request the three-digit access code that was given when signing in before allowing you to collect your child safely. Due to the vast number of children that attend our holiday camp, it may be that your child is not immediately ready at the sign out desk but instead being supervised in the main hall by one of our other coaches, it this is the case then please be patient as our coaching team will make sure they are brought to you as soon as possible.
Please note: If you have arranged for a family member or friend to collect your child at the end of the day then it is important that you give this person the three-digit access code before they arrive to collect your child. Failure to do so will either delay the signing out process or mean that we cannot release your child at the end of the day until we are satisfied that is it safe to do so.
What if I am late to collect my child?
Please respect our programme timing. If you are likely to be delayed after the pre-booked pick up time please let us know in order to avoid unnecessary concern. If you are delayed beyond our latest pick up time of 4pm we will try contacting you using the contact number that was provided during the booking process. After that we must notify Social Services of any children still on site.
